#Problem – I

A 32-year-old female presented with amenorrhea for 3 months in Obstetric department. Her pregnancy test was positive. She gave history of recurrent spontaneous abortion in the past. On examination, fetal heart sound was absent and uterus was too large for estimated duration of pregnancy. Doctor suspected the congenital infection in the fetus and sent for further investigations.

a. List significant pathogens included in TORCH group. For each of the pathogens, mention the mode of transmission in pregnant female. [2+2=4] (Microbiology)

b. Write the function and life span of human chorionic gonadotropin (β-hcg) in pregnancy. [3] (Physiology)

c. Enlist drugs that should be avoided during pregnancy with its teratogenic adverse effects. [3] (Pharmacology)


#Problem – II

A 60-year-old lean and thin postmenopausal Para 6 widow farmer and smoker from rural area was presented with a history of foul smelling per vaginal discharge and bleeding, not relieved by multiple treatments. Her Pap smear report mentioned Low grade Squamous Intra-epithelial Lesion of cervix for which she lost follow up. Examination shows cauliflower like growth in the cervix for which biopsy was taken which revealed moderately differentiated squamous cell carcinoma of cervix and was treated for that.

a. Describe microanatomy of the affected organ. [Anatomy] [4]
